Ryan Whyte Maloney was raised in Traverse City, Michigan. Growing up on rock 'n roll and country music he developed a strong, diverse love for several genres.
He began playing the guitar, violin, cello and drums at age 9 and eventually sharpened his skills to write songs. At age 16 he recorded his first album and by age 21 he was self-producing and engineering at Frontier Studios in Copemish, MI. He spent years writing and recording original material for his nationally accomplished band, Indulge. Ryan recorded the album, Tomorrow's another Day in 2005.
Feeling like he reached a glass ceiling after 10 years of touring and playing hundreds of shows and festivals around the US, he took a break from touring and began writing his solo material with a focus on his roots in the skill of songwriting. Ryan even performed as a DJ from 1999-2005 in addition to his projects.
He then recorded, Where I've Been, a 12 song album produced by Sean O'Dwyer in Las Vegas. Sean is known for being behind the production of albums of bands such as Black Crowes, Roger Waters, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, Emerson Drive, Blink 182, Sum 41 and Phoenix TX.
Where I've been struck a deal with Touch Tunes and is now available in over 160,000 locations worldwide. It can also be found on iTunes and Amazon.
From 2010 to 2013 Ryan performed across the country, promoting the album & performing radio interviews.
